Donald Emory is a 58-year-old Chesnee resident who was forced to retire. He is on disability and has been without health insurance for almost two years.

Donald is a cancer survivor who has looked into the cost of independent health insurance for he and his wife. But the cost was too exorbitant after working for 38 years. A policy would cost about 90 percent of his disability income. He has been close to having to make the decision of paying for medications for his wife or buying groceries.
